Check out our latest leadership book by Cleo Franklin!
Lessons from Our Mothers & Fathers is a collection of 20 short stories of sage generational advice from the author, Cleophus (Cleo) P. Franklin Jr., and other successful business leaders who share special moments of inspiration and wisdom passed on to them by their parents. The powerful stories captured in the book provide the reader with glimpses into the writers’ early lives to witness the extraordinary moments that helped shape their personal and professional journeys.
The book includes stories by such notables as
- Thomas H. Warren Sr., the first African American chief of police in Omaha, Nebraska, and now CEO of Urban League of Nebraska;
- Writer and former college basketball coach Rus Bradburd, who authored All the Dreams We’ve Dreamed: A Story of Hoops and Handguns on Chicago’s West Side and teaches at New Mexico State University;
- Dr. Jeneen Fields, a research scientist in the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology at Purdue University in Indiana who also leads the innovative Women in Agriculture course in Purdue’s College of Agriculture.
The 218-page 6 × 9 trade paperback uses a page design modeled after Cleo’s first book, Coffee with Cleo, modified for the inclusion of multiple authors and their individual bios. Cleo and his fellow contributors found old family photos to include with their stories, which made each story even more personal and connected to the preceding generation.
Both of Cleo’s books, Lessons from Our Mothers & Fathers and Coffee with Cleo, can be found online at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and coffeewithcleo.com.
